Chemvet from 2005

In 1979, Attie Smuts started a small business near the City Deep abattoir in Johannesburg, with the sole purpose to sell stock feed and - remedies to farmers transporting their livestock to the Johannesburg abattoir.

Attie soon became renowned for his excellent service and the fact that he gave attention to the farmer’s needs which became the basis for Chemvet Steel and Fencing.

Chemvet Steel and Fencing prides itself in offering expert advice and quality service amongst their various product ranges.

Their loyal client base extends across South Africa, as well as in neighbouring countries such as Namibia, Botswana, Angola and Mozambique.

The product ranges consist of security and other fencing materials, game and electrified fences, common and special paints, pre-manufactured steel products such as gates, poultry and pig houses.

When one speak to Attie Smuts, his marked enthusiasm is a quality that you remember for a long time after a visit to Chemvet. This must be the mainspring behind Chemvet's constant growth throughout the years and in time to come. Attie gave the Chemvet-reigns over to Eugene Marais at the begining of 2008, who is sure to take the company to bigger heights!
