Product Details

Polycool is a composite board comprising of a white Vinyl Foil Facing laminated to one or both sides of a Expanded Polystyrene Board. Polycool offers a durable, washable and aesthetically pleasing insulated ceiling ceiling solution.

The Expanded Polystyrene board thickness is determined by insulation requirements to a maximum of 100mm. Expanded Polystyrene of the Fire Retarded type is used in a standard density of 15 kg per cubic metre.

Higher densities of 20 or 30 kg per cubic metre are available if required by special insulation and mechanical requirements.

Sizes, Weight and Support Data

Polycool is available in standard widths of 600 and 1200mm and in lengths up to 6000mm.
Mass per m2 can be calculated as follows: Mass(kg per m2) = 0.35+Thickness in mm x (0.016)
Maximum recommended support to support span in an over purlin application is 1300mm.

Fixing Details

If installed across purlins the side to side joints of the Polycool should be supported and sealed off by inserting an H-extrusions made from PVC or Aluminium.

If installed across the beams and in the same direction as purlins or ‘top hat’ sections, boards with reinforcing should be requested to prevent sagging.
